2012 Reading List

I love to read.  Stacks of books seem to pile up all over the house — most of them half read.  Other women buy shoes; I buy books.  For 2012,  I am purposing to be a bit more intentional about my reading plan.  I hope to read 12 books and post a “Net Out” here on the blog using a  format similar to Michael Hyatt’s.

Up first will be Stumbling Into Grace: Confessions of a Sometimes Spiritually Clumsy Woman by Lisa Harper.  Lisa spoke at our Ladies’ Christmas Event at church this past December, and her wit and wisdom packed a powerful punch.  The picture on the cover of the book is ADORABLE and captured my attention.

I definitely could use a little grace as we start 2012.  Can’t you?  Want to read it together and then chat about it?  I will be posting my “Net Out” on Friday, February 10th.    The book is available on Kindle for all of you techy readers that got those new gadgets for Christmas.

Here is the rest of my 2012 Reading List:

March 2:  The Circle Maker (Mark Batterson)

March 30:  Made to Crave (Lysa Teurkehurst)

April 27:  God’s Story:  Your Story (Max Lucado)

May 25:  Get Out of that Pit (Beth Moore)

June 22:  Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God (Francis Chan)

July 27:  The Resolution for Women (Priscilla Shirer)

August 31:  The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict (Ken Sande)

  1. What a great idea… making yourself a list of books to read in 2012 is a great idea! Every time I flip through a Family Christian catalog or walk into a Barnes and Noble store I think,”I want to read that.. or I want to read this.” Then I completely forget about it and never pick up the book. Although I do read a lot anyway, I think it is a wonderful idea to make a list. Of all the books on your list – Crazy Love is my favorite. GREAT BOOK! Get out of the Pit and Boundaries are very good too and I have wanted to read Made to Crave. Thanks for posting this and thanks for the idea.

  2. What a great list! I’ve read Made to Crave and it is excellent! I have a list going as well, but I’ve got to work really hard to make time to read. A friend has challenged me to just shut the door one afternoon and don’t let my kiddos interrupt. Sounds like a plan to me 🙂 Thanks for a great post!
